Leroy Who?

If you don’t know who this guy is then where have you been? Started out posting covers on YouTube, Leroy Sanchez now has a contract with Rebel Rock & Interscope Records. I still remember watching his cover of Breakaway and being impressed knowing that English wasn’t his mother tongue. After posting many more covers on YouTube, he caught the attention of Jim Jonsin, a Grammy-Award winning producer and songwriter with his cover of Craig David’s Walking Away and I guess, you could say, the rest is history.

At 14, he took part in a talent show called Veo Veo for the small area of the Basque Country, although Sanchez wasn’t crowned the victor, he carried on singing. Lucky for us! Having been a background vocalist in the tenth edition of American Idol and worked in musical productions by artists such as Scotty McCreary, James Durbin and Haley Reinhart, finally in 2014, he released his single, a ballad, “Little Dancer” with a video where he serenades his love interest on a rooftop. (Video here) Leroy’s vocals never cease to amaze me, it’s absolutely astounding! He sings with such ease complete with emotions. Melting hearts all over the globe, this “rising star” is undeniably someone I’d love to see perform live.
